46.
The mailing lists are the heart of the Boost community. You may
47. read the lists via full-content email, email digests, or via newsgroup
48. reader.

49.
Hosting for the mailing lists is donated by the
50. Open Systems Lab at Indiana University.

51.
Access to Boost mailing lists via newsgroup (NNTP) is contributed by
52. GMANE.

53.
Boost Users mailing list (also available via
54. newsgroup)

55.
This list is oriented toward casual users of the Boost
56. libraries. It is a good place to start if you are having trouble
57. getting started with Boost or its individual libraries. Feel free to post
58. both "newbie" and more challenging questions, but please check first to
59. see if there's an appropriate Project-Specific
60. list; you'll often get better answers in a forum dedicated to your
61. problem area. This list is relatively low volume (less than 500 per
62. month). Subscribe or unsubscribe at the Boost Users

64.
For those who prefer to participate via an NNTP (newsgroup) interface, a gateway to the Boost Users
65. mailing list is available at news://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.boost.user.
66. Please see this note before posting to the

69.
Boost developers mailing list (also available via
70. newsgroup)

71.
This is the main Boost mailing list. It is high volume (over
72. 1000 messages per month), very technical, and oriented toward Boost
73. library developers. It is also read by many other members interested in
74. watching the Boost library development process. Virtually all Boost
75. decisions, major or minor, technical or otherwise, are reached via public
76. discussion on this mailing list. It is where the formal reviews of
77. proposed libraries take place. Subscribe or unsubscribe at http://lists.boost.org/mailman/listinfo.cgi/boost

78.
When we talk about the "members of Boost", we are talking about those
79. signed up for this main mailing list.

80.
For those who prefer to participate via an NNTP (newsgroup) interface, a gateway to the Boost mailing list
81. is available at news://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.boost.devel.

82.
Note: Postings to the newsgroup will

85. mail delivery if you prefer to read messages via the newsgroup. Don't be
86. fooled by GMane's authentication message which says "you are now
87. authorized to post to this list" after you answer its autogenerated mail;
88. only subscribed addresses may post.

89.
For this list's members only, preliminary libraries under discussion

116.
Project-Specific lists

117. Several mailing lists have been established for specific Boost projects:
118.

119.

120.
Boost.Build (jamboost) list

121. The Yahoogroups mailing list for the Boost
122. Build System is located here. GMane provides <a
123. href="news://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.boost.build">NNTP
124. access and Searchable
125. Archives as well. Please see this note
126. before posting to the newsgroup.
127.
Python C++-Sig (for Boost.Python)

128. The Python C++-sig
129. is not strictly Boost-specific, but nearly all the traffic concerns
130. Boost.Python. See also the Language Binding list below. GMane provides <a
131. href="news://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.python.c%2b%2b">NNTP
132. access and Searchable

134. before posting to the newsgroup. There are also searchable archives
135. at ASPN.
136.
Language Binding

137. The Language
138. Binding list is for discussion of a generalized framework for
139. binding C++ to other languages and systems based on the technology of
140. Boost.Python and Luabind. The plan is to provide
141. a single front-end for describing bindings with runtime-pluggable
142. back ends for binding to specific languages. It is highly
143. recommended that new subscribers read through the
144. message history from the beginning before posting; it will
145. save time as much design progress has already been made. GMane
146. provides NNTP
147. access and
148. Searchable Archives as well. Please see this note before posting to the newsgroup.
149.
Boost.Spirit lists

150. Spirit has two additional mailing lists. Spirit-general
151. for Spirit users and Spirit-devel
152. for Spirit developers (open to anyone who wishes to hang out with
153. Spirit coders). Both have GMane
154. NNTP access (Spirit-general
155. and Spirit-devel)
156. with searchable archives (
157. Spirit-general and
158. Spirit-devel).
159.
Boost.Documentation list

160. The SourceForge mailing list for the Boost Documentation System is located <a
161. href="https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/boost-docs" >here.
162. GMane provides NNTP
163. access and
164. Searchable Archives as well. Please see this note before posting to the newsgroup.
165.
uBLAS development (ublas-dev) list

166. A seperate user and developer mailing list for <a href=
167. "../libs/numeric/ublas/index.html">Boost uBLAS specific topics is located
168. here.
169.
Testing list

170.
The setup, procedures and tools necessary for running Boost
171. regression tests are discussed on <a
172. href="http://lists.boost.org/mailman/listinfo.cgi/boost-testing">this
173. list. The list main participants are regression runners -
174. people who run Boost tests on a variety of compilers and
175. platforms, and the maintainers of tools for collecting and
176. processing test results.

177.
Important: questions relevant to a wider audience,
178. including questions about Boost.Test framework or test results
179. for a particular library, should be posted to main development
